Southern Water is embarking on a £1.8 billion investment programme across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight between 2010 and 2015, the equivalent of spending £1,000 for every property.
The investment programme was agreed by our regulator Ofwat in November 2009, following its detailed review of our Business Plan.
A rise in customer bills of £20, before inflation, between 2010 and 2015 has also been agreed by Ofwat to fund the investment programme for our four million customers.
The Business Plan outlined our plans for maintaining and improving services during the next five years, particularly those which customers had asked for, including drinking water quality, a reduction in flooding and pollution, metering and carbon reduction.
An update to our plan, reflecting the outcome of the Ofwat review will be published shortly. This update will also set out our priorities for water and wastewater through to 2035.
