We all need water to stay alive and remain healthy.

Water can help our concentration and physical fitness and stop us becoming dehydrated. The body requires water constantly to allow important chemical reactions, such as the production of energy, to take place.

Doctors believe adults should drink about two litres of water a day to remain healthy, although illness, hot weather and exercise can leave our bodies needing more.
