** Because our region is classed as an area of severe water stress, we are planning to install water meters in the majority of homes we supply and are introducing a seasonal tariff to discourage non-essential use in the summer, when water resources are under the greatest stress. The tariff will apply to a new type of meter being installed under our Universal Metering Programme, which begins in June, and has a volumetric rate that is higher in the summer (June to September) than in the winter (October to May).
*** There will be no seasonal tariff for wastewater.
