Protecting Sensitive Waters

Work underway at ChichesterSouthern Water has reduced the levels of nitrogen nutrients in treated wastewater before it is recycled into sensitive waters.

The company has carried out £87 million of environmental improvements at six wastewater treatment works (WTW) in Hampshire and Sussex.

These improvements are now helping to protect sensitive waters, in particular the Solent and Chichester and Langstone harbours.
