Southern Water, 4Delivery and environmental charity Groundwork Solent have visited three Portsmouth schools to tell pupils about the new pumping station at Eastney. These were Miltoncross School, Milton Park Junior School and Meon Junior School.

A donation of £1,500 was also made to youth project The Respect Project, which is based at Bransbury Park Community Centre. The money was put towards a new trampoline.

In addition, as an extra incentive for those on site to stay safe, a donation is made to charity for every accident-free working day. The charities to benefit from this scheme are the Portsmouth and Southsea Voluntary Lifeguards and the Downs Syndrome Educational Trust.
