A £1.2 million investment will benefit the environment in Cuckfield, West Sussex.
We are upgrading wastewater treatment works in Newbury Lane, Cuckfield. New equipment will be built including a treatment unit, to give wastewater entering the site an enhanced level of treatment, and monitors to check flows leaving the site are of the best possible quality.
The scheme will ensure the site continues to meet tightening standards set by the Environment Agency.
Cuckfield Treatment Works serves a population of about 3,400 people and can treat up to 2,630 cubic metres of wastewater per day.
Construction is due to complete in April 2012.
It will be carried out by contractor 4Delivery, a consortium comprising Veolia Water, Costain and MWH.
