Southern Water is one of the largest water and wastewater companies in the South East of England.
The company supplies fresh, quality drinking water to more than one million households and treats and recycles wastewater from nearly two million households across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Each day, 468 million litres of water are supplied to our customers from our 99 water supply works along more than 13,600 kilometres of water mains to our customers' taps.
We take nearly 69 per cent of the water from underground sources, called aquifers, 26 per cent from rivers and five per cent from surface reservoirs.
Each day, we also treat and recycle 1,300 million litres of wastewater at 371 treatment works after it is pumped through a 21,639 kilometre sewer network.
Southern Water is owned by Greensands Investment Limited, a consortium made up of pension and infrastructure funds.
