How to read your water meter

Water resources are under pressure so Southern Water is installing 500,000 water meters in the South East. We explain how your meter works and how to take readings.

If you do not have a water meter at your property, it's likely you're receiving an unmetered bill.
If you've had a meter since before late 2010, it's likely you're receiving one of these metered bills.
If you've had a meter installed as part of our Metering programme, it's likely you're receiving one of these metered bills.
If you're receiving an assessed bill, it's because it was not possible to install a meter at your property.
If you're receiving a metered assessed bill, it's because it was not possible to install a meter at your property as part of the Metering programme.
