Southern Water published its Draft Drought Plan for Consultation on 30 June 2006. Copies were also sent to statutory consultees. Representations were made to Defra on the Draft Drought Plan and forwarded to Southern Water. Southern Water's response to these representations is now available.

As required under Section 37B (4) of the Water Industry Act 1991 (as amended by s62 of the Water Act 2003) and in accordance with the Environment Agency's (EA) Water Company Drought Plan Guidelines 2005, Southern Water has prepared a composite statement of response to the twelve representations made to its Draft Drought Plan.

Kennet District Council
Medway Council
London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority
Kent Fire & Rescue Service

Section 3 of the Drought Plan Direction 2005 requires Southern Water to publish its statement of response to the representations on the Company's website within fifteen weeks of the Draft Drought Plan publication date. The Company has also notified those who made representations of the statement's publication.
