Southern Water has a number of reservoirs with leisure facilities, from Bewl Water, near Tunbridge Wells in the east, to Testwood Lakes, near Southampton, in the west.

For the history enthusiasts, there is Brighton's Victorian sewers a marvel of engineering, which is still functioning today. Tours of the sewers are held during the summer.

Or come and visit the giant steam engines, at the heritage site at Brede Water Supply Works, near Hastings, East Sussex. The Brede Steam Engine Society holds open days during the summer, with a chance to learn more about the past.
