Reservoirs offer a fun day out for the family and a range of facilities from walking and biking to sailing and bird watching.

Southern Water operates five key surface reservoirs across the South East which in addition to storing vital drinking water supplies also have public access.

Southern Water - Bewl WaterThe largest of the reservoirs is Bewl Water, located near Lamberhurst, on the Kent/Sussex border. Find out more information on Bewl Water and its extensive leisure facilities.

Testwood Lakes is the company's newest reservoir and is part of a landscaped area of lakes near Southampton, in Hampshire. Find out more about Testwood Lakes.

Southern Water - Weir Wood reservoirWeir Wood Reservoir, near East Grinstead, in West Sussex, has a number of activities including sailing which is organised through Weir Wood Sailing Club. There is also a coarse fishery run by Weir Wood Fishery (contact them on 01306 730449). The Millennium Walk footpath runs from the water treatment works at the reservoir and joins a public footpath along the fence line, with a picnic site offering spectacular views across the water about one kilometre west of the works.

Darwell Reservoir, near Battle, in East Sussex, has a small car park and enhanced walking access around the site.

Southern Water - Powdermill reservoirPowdermill Reservoir, near Battle, in East Sussex, is in a picturesque spot with public recreation areas, a small car park, information signs, signposts and picnic benches.
