Monitoring your water quality

The monitoring of the quality of your water is undertaken in accordance with a strict set of rules laid down in the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000.  Compliance with these regulations is monitored by the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

Every year, several hundred thousand samples are taken from our treatment works, underground service reservoirs and customers' taps.
