Keeping our sewer network flowing freely is key to protecting the environment from flooding and pollution.

During the past year, we invested in nine schemes to help protect homes, gardens and roads from flooding and extended our sewer network to allow 300 properties to connect to mains drainage for the first time.

Many pollution incidents are caused by  sewer blockages, so we launched an award-winning Fight the Fat campaign to raise awareness. We also joined forces with water companies and agencies across the country to tackle misconnections to sewers.
