We’re making some improvements to our sewer network in Headcorn so our infrastructure can cope with increasing flows from existing properties and the new developments planned for the area.
We need to build new sewers and increase the size of some of the existing pipes to ensure that increased flows within the network will not impact on our current system. These improvements should also ease some of the flooding problems in Moat Road.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and residents while we complete the work, we’ll be closing Kings Road in short stretches as we move along laying the pipe. The first stretch will be from junction of Kings Road/Mill Bank to Lenham Road. You’ll still be able to access Mill Bank, Moat Road and Station Road using the diversion route.
We’ll be starting the second part of the scheme along Moat Road in January 2019.
We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and will continue to keep you up to date with progress.
We’re planning to start work on 23 July 2018 and aim to have the scheme completed in summer 2019.
We’d like to invite you to meet with the project team to find out more about the work we’re doing and also answer any questions you may have about the project. We’ll be at Headcorn Village Hall, Church Lane, Headcorn, TN27 9NR on 21 June between 10.30am to 1.30pm and 3pm to 7pm.
Headcorn Flood Action Group will also be in attendance at the drop in.
