We're investing in this area to reduce bursts and improve water supply. Recently the area was left without water following a burst main and we want to help prevent this in future.
To date, a total of 4.1 kilometres of new water main has been installed, and we've connected 90 per cent of homes impacted to the new main.
We've now progressed along the length of Ashey Road up to the junction with Swanmore Road, where two-way lights will control traffic at this junction as we continue to work along Swanmore Road towards West Street.
The road closure on Ashey Road will remain in place temporarily while the newly laid pipe is cleansed and tested.
We thank everyone for their ongoing support and patience while we carry out these essential improvements and apologise for any inconvenience caused by the work.
