If your customer would like to apply for a consent, you need to complete a trade effluent G02 form on the retailer portal for any standard, multi site and temporary consent.
The G02 forms can be used for the following requests:
This will apply if your customers wishes to discharge trade effluent from a premises for a period greater than six months.
Examples of such discharges are:

If your customer has an existing consent and wants to move location within our region, then they will need to apply for a new consent prior to the move.
This will apply if your customer wishes to discharge trade effluent for a period of 6 months or less.
If a temporary discharge extends beyond the six months then they will be required to reapply for an additional six months. Reapplication for the same temporary discharge will only be accepted twice (a total period of 18 months).
If the discharge continues beyond this, then a Standard Consent will be required.

This will apply if your customer wishes to discharge trade effluent access a number of sites within our region.
The Consent will cover all discharges made over a period of six months. Reapplication can be made any number of times.
In order to qualify for this consent the discharges must be of very low risk to Sothern Water. An assessment will be made at time of application. Generally, a discharge should be at the same or lesser strength as sewage, and contain no harmful substances. The volume discharged per day per site must be no greater than 5 m³.

Your customer should contact you to make an application at the earliest opportunity prior to any changes on site.
This will apply when the Legal holder of the consent changes their name which affects the legal status.
Please note that a change of this type will result in the issue of a new consent.
This will apply when the holder of the Consent wishes to change the name on a Consent, where the change of name does not affect the Legal Status.
Once we've received the completed application form, we'll assess the capacity of the sewer and the impact of the discharge at the receiving wastewater treatment works.
Your customers application will be processed within two months, however, if the discharge contains dangerous substances, we'll need to consult with the Environment Agency.
In these circumstances, the application process may be extended.
Temporary trade effluent discharge applications must be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the potential discharge to sewer.
We will endeavour to process applications received later than this, however, this may not be possible and your customer will not be able to discharge until a licence is issued.
For temporary licences with a volume greater than 50 m3/d, two months notice must be provided (as for new and varied consents).
When a consent is granted, we may impose control conditions which do not correspond with the requirement stated on the application.

In accordance with the Wholesale Contract / Wholesale-Retail Code – Business Terms, please find here a timetable showing the dates on which we will issue invoices to retailers for planned settlement runs.
