Community grants

Here at Southern Water we recognise that sometimes our activities can cause disruption to the communities we serve.

We may need to undertake some construction work at one of our sites, update our infrastructure e.g laying new water mains or sewage pipes or unfortunately there may have been an incident beyond our control e.g a burst water main.

We have designated a number of areas where we are looking to support the local communities who may have been affected by our activities.

We were happy to support Southampton Mencap (Café down the Lane).

Many other projects and groups have benefitted from a Southern Water Community Grant including:

  • Sholing Village Study Centre
  • YMCA Fairthorne Group
  • Weston Church Youth Project
  • Worthing D & D Basketball
  • Keep Lancing Lovely
  • Men in Sheds
  • Empty Plate Café
  • Southwick & Lancing Lip Reading Group
  • Yellow Door Solent
  • Recovered 4 Life

If you run or are involved in a community group or initiative in one of these areas, you may be eligible to apply for a Southern Water community grant.

Community Grants Scheme for Thanet NOW OPEN for applications

Southern Water is investing £30 million to upgrade the ageing sewer system in Thanet.

The work is planned to be completed by early 2020 and will help to protect wildlife and the environment, whilst ensuring the system is fit for future generations.

These vital works may cause some inconvenience to the local community but Southern Water and our partner TPMD are working hard to minimise the impact.

We welcome grant applications from across Thanet, particularly the Ramsgate and Broadstairs areas. Please read the guidelines carefully before applying.
