Howletts were our regional charity partners for Kent in 2016–17.
The team applied for a grant to refurbish their education centre and wildlife garden. Although still in use the facilities and displays needed updating.
Southern Water donated £10k and challenged the Howletts team to transform their centre with the help of Southern Water employees in just twelve months.
The partnership has been highly successful and resulted in a bright, modern education centre complete with contemporary displays and a cinema room to help promote the Foundation’s conservation messages and Southern Water’s water efficiency tips.
In addition the partnership delivered:
Beverley Thompson Community Campaigns & Engagement Manager for Southern Water
"The result is a bright inspiring place that will make a huge difference to the visitor experience and their knowledge about the conservation of animals and the planet’s resources including water!"
Sam Eden Education Manager at Howletts Wild Animal Park
“With the help of Southern Water’s brilliant team of volunteers, we have successfully produced a fantastic learning environment that will be central to bringing our visitors together and engaging them for many years to come.
We thank Southern Water for their generous donation, willing volunteers and guidance on our water efficiency. We look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
