The burst water main at High Street in Sheerness has now been fixed and supplies have returned.

Up to 6,000 properties in Sheerness, Kent are currently without water following a water main burst earlier today at 5.30am (Saturday 23 September).


We first became aware of a burst water main at High Street in Sheerness, Kent at 5.30am today (Saturday 23 September).

Following today’s release of the Consumer Council for Water (CCW)’s report into customer service, Southern Water’s Chief Customer Officer, Simon Oates, has welcomed the fact the company is rapidly improving. He pledges to continue increasing responsiveness and focus on customers’ needs.


A major project to improve drinking water quality by replacing nearly 30km of water mains in the Woolmans Wood area of Chatham is almost done.
