Calling all Isle of Wight children! Would you like to win your own bit of beachside heaven this summer?
We've joined forced with the Environment Agency on a campaign called 'Beauty of the Beach,' to celebrate our coastline – and help people play their part in keeping our local beaches beautiful.
As part of the campaign we are running a social media competition from 9 January to 8 February 2017 to show how our Island's children value our beaches and what they do to care for them. There’s nothing like a bit of shame from the youngsters to get us adults to take more care of our environment too!
The competition is open to all of the Island’s 4-11 year olds.
All they need to do is write a love letter in no more than 50 words, using the template below, to their favourite Isle of Wight beach, get an adult to take a snap of it on their phone and upload it to @EnvAgencySE on Twitter by the 8 February 2017.
The winners for each beach will be announced on Twitter @EnvAgencySE and @SouthernWater on Valentine’s Day, and the winning love letters will be displayed throughout the Summer 2017 on beach signs across the Island.
And keep a look out for some inspiring ideas throughout the competition period – other beach users will be posting their love letters too!
