Southern Water’s scheme to replace 10km of water mains in Lodsworth and Lurgashall is progressing well.
The next stage will be to replace the main in Dial Green Lane, Lurgashall. This is due to begin on November 30 and is expected to take up to 18 weeks.
The road will be closed to through traffic during this time and a diversion put in place, although access to individual properties will be maintained.
Southern Water and its contractor Clancy Docwra will liaise with nearby residents while work takes place.
Project Manager Peter Simmons said: “I’m pleased with the progress this scheme is making and I’d like to thank residents for their patience so far.
“There will always be an element of disruption with a project like this, but we’re doing all we can to keep this to a minimum.”
The scheme to lay new mains in both villages will reduce the risk of bursts and leaks, helping maintain reliable supplies to customers. Work started in August and is due to complete in April.
