New connection charging

We're changing how we charge for new connections from 1 April 2018.

Our new charging arrangements for new connection services 2018/19 are available to view below.

We’ve published fixed charges for the majority of work we carry out to connect new homes to our existing network, enabling you to estimate the cost before you make an application.

Our new charging arrangements are in line with Ofwat’s New Charging Rules, which affect all English water and wastewater companies.

The charging arrangements include:

  • new infrastructure charges for water and wastewater connections (which cover the cost of reinforcing the existing network to support development-related growth)
  • site specific charges which cover the work needed to connect new homes to our existing network, including new water and wastewater connections, lateral drains, new water mains and sewers, diversions and associated activity such as traffic management.
