We have developed a range of free initiatives and resources for primary schools to support learning about water.

Be a Water Hero education pack

We provide primary schools supplied by us with a free education pack to support children to ‘Be Water Heroes’. The pack includes:

  • Launch assembly
  • School Challenges – ideal for use with an eco-club or school council
  • Quick splashes – fit easily into an existing scheme of work
  • Activity plans and worksheets for 19 water-focused activities
  • All you need to run a ‘Water-saving Mission’ at your school

Waterwise packs

Our Waterwise activity pack, aimed at group leaders who work with seven to 11-year-olds, helps teach youngsters about water in a fun, interactive and interesting way.

The pack contains 12 simple activities which are easy to run and ideal for use with school classes, Scouts, Guides, after-school clubs and holiday clubs, inside or out.

Activities include:

  • Rainstorm in a Jar – replicate how rain is made
  • The World in a Bucket – show how little of the Earth’s water is available to drink
  • Water Filter – see how different substances react in water
  • In a Spin – looks at how we use water in the home.

Talks for schools

Our free talks give Key Stage 2 schools an opportunity to meet our staff and learn first-hand about the vital services that we provide.

Children's books

We have published four fun booklets to teach younger children about important issues relating to water, health and the environment.
