Asletts save 250,000 litres of water per year and stop paint sediment getting into sewers
When the busy design and build company, Asletts, wanted to be more sustainable, they applied for funding under the first round of our Business Partnership Fund.
They were awarded £10,000 and used this to purchase special technical equipment that could save 250,000 litres of water each year.
Asletts bought three painting and decorating cleaning stations, using recycled water to wash paint brushes and other equipment, and separate out chemicals from the paint. These chemicals are then made into a solid, to stop harmful substances from escaping into sewers.
Director Linden Aslett explained that the company takes pride in their contribution to environmental sustainability.
He said: “This support has empowered us to integrate innovative water-saving machines into our sites, resulting in substantial conservation efforts. Not only have these machines saved tens of thousands of litres of water, but they have also effectively prevented any paint sediment from contaminating the water system. Thank you for enabling us to play our part in preserving our precious resources.”
