We are working to replace 3.6km of water mains in West Harting and Nurstead in West Sussex to reduce the risk of bursts and ensure we can continue to provide a constant supply of high quality drinking water to our customers.
Work to lay the new pipe begins in January 2017. It will include the renewal of water mains in Collins Lane heading west from the edge of Hill Ash Farm in West Harting to the end of Putmans Lane. A new main will also run in Church Way Lane from the junction with Quebec Lane close to Hurts Cottage.
We expect the work to be completed by May 2017. A combination of traditional 'open cut' techniques will be used alongside advanced 'no-dig' technology to lay the new pipe.
There will be some traffic management, which include temporary traffic lights and road closures. We will provide plenty of notice for customers regarding traffic management plans before the work begins.
