What we do and where

Southern Water is a key employer in the South East of England with almost 2,000 people working across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Our headquarters are in Worthing, West Sussex. We also have offices in:

  • Brighton, East Sussex
  • Otterbourne, Hampshire
  • Chatham, Kent.


We also have hundreds of operational sites throughout the region.

Our operations

We supply the highest quality drinking water to two million customers and remove and recycle wastewater from four and a half million customers.

To do this we manage:

  • 365 wastewater treatment works
  • 2,375 pumping stations
  • 39,600km of sewers
  • 89 water treatment works
  • 13,753km of water mains.

Investment

Between 2015 and 2020, we are investing £3 billion to further improve our water and wastewater treatment works, water supply works and infrastructure.

We are working with a range of contractors and specialists to secure water services and plan for the future.

We also rely on our friendly and professional teams who help our four million customers every day of the year either on the telephone or in the community.
