We run a community volunteering programme which allows our employees to spend two days paid leave working individually or in a team for their chosen charity or community project each year.

Whether it's clearing scrub land and ponds, packing boxes for charities or helping hedgehogs at a wildlife hospital – our employees are always keen to lend a hand!

Here’s what some of them said about their volunteering experiences:

...best day ever...

These days are brilliant. You can give so much back to something that you may never get involved with and you get paid for doing it.

The day was excellent. We were looked after by the members of the charity, who were informative and took great pride in their job.

We have partnerships with respected organisations such as the National Trust, RSPB and our local wildlife trusts, that help preserve and enhance our environment. We also support charities including St Barnabas House Hospice, Beanstalk, Age UK, Martlets Hospice and the Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare.

In 2017-18 584 days or 4676 hours were given back to the local community in volunteer activity.

Some of our recent projects have included:

  • Helping at the hedgehog hospital at Brent Wildlife Lodge
  • Hamper packing for the Salvation Army
  • Clearing the grounds at the Countryside Education Trust
  • Supporting Father Christmas at the Chichester Down Syndrome Group
  • Dementia befriending groups.
