Following recent and continued heavy rain, there is extensive surface water flooding across the area. This has placed significant pressure on our wastewater networks, making operations at wastewater pumping stations more difficult than normal.

Following recent and continued heavy rain, there is extensive surface water flooding across the area. This has placed significant pressure on our wastewater networks, making operations at wastewater pumping stations more difficult than normal.
Our Wastewater Pumping Site at Salterns Road, Hill Head, has been flooded, causing damage to power. Our specialist teams and tankers are on site to help bring the operation back to normal, as quickly as possible, in a safe and controlled manner.
This has resulted in a release to the sea, and our modelling shows that there may have been an impact to the local environment. Over the weekend our teams will be on site checking for any debris and carrying out litter picks on the beach as necessary. Our teams will also be taking water quality samples to assess any impacts.
