Southern Water is supporting local students in Worthing by taking part in Dare to Dream, a programme which aims to boost the confidence, employability skills and wellbeing of young people.

The scheme, created by the LoveLocalJobs Foundation in partnership with Adur and Worthing Councils, involves year 9 and 10 pupils at St Andrew’s School, Worthing, and is delivered over four sessions during the spring term.

Core themes of assemblies, workshops and mentoring sessions include self-awareness, mindset, gratitude, resilience, teamwork, and employability.

Southern Water are putting forward five colleagues as mentors, from across our logistics, data analysis, community and partnerships, litigation, and insight management teams.

Southern Water’s Education Officer, Joanne Wood, said:

“Being a positive role model to young people can have a profound impact, enabling the individual to catch sight of their skills and potential as well as raising their aspirations for their future selves.

“We are excited to be involved again and are looking forward to working with these brilliant students.”

Jack Hayes, Head of Programme Delivery at Love Local Jobs, said:

"The foundation is delighted to have the amazing team at Southern Water supporting Dare to Dream for the 2022/23 Academic year.

“Southern Water has been staunch supporters of our programme and are dedicated to helping the next generation coming through in our part of the world live up to, grasp and use all the potential they undoubtedly have to be the very best version of themselves they can be."
