Improvements at Battle Wastewater Treatment Works

We’re making upgrades at Battle Wastewater Treatment Works to improve water quality and increase capacity.

background

We're spending 7.8 million to upgrade Battle Wastewater Treatments Works. To do this, we need to install new equipment so we can remove more phosphorous during the wastewater treatment process. This will improve the quality of the treated water going back to the environment and make sure we meet the new environmental standards.

We also need to improve the capacity of the works, to accommodate for a predicted increase in population by 2035.

What happens next?

We’re planning to begin setting up on site at the beginning of August, before starting our main works before the end of the month. The project will take approximately 12 months to complete, and we expect to finish before the end of Summer next year.

How will this affect me?

You may notice some general noise from the site and an increase in traffic while this work is being carried out, but we’ll try to minimise any disruption as much as practicable.

Our normal working hours will be 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. We do not plan to work on Saturdays, but in some circumstances, we might need to and if so, our working hours will be 7:30am to 1:00pm.

Noise would be minimised between 07:30 and 8:00 on Saturdays.

Once completed, we don’t expect the new equipment we’ve installed to be louder than the existing operation of the Works. How to contact us
