We’re renewing the water main on a section of the A35 Winchester Road in Southampton.
Work started on Monday 31st July and we expect it to last three months. We’ll be working seven days a week to finish as quickly as we can.
For safety reasons we’re closing one lane of a section of Winchester Road between Hill Lane and Dale Road.
Eastbound traffic will be able to use Winchester Road as usual.
Westbound traffic should follow the diversion via Hill Lane/ Lordswood Road/Lords Hill Way/Romsey Road.
If you live on one of these roads, you will not be able to drive directly onto Winchester Road:
- Vincent Avenue
- Bladon Road
- Malvern Road
- Seymour Road
- Luccombe Road (North)
- Seagarth Lane.
We politely request that road users in these locations use the diversion route or take an alternative route. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause you.
We’ll also be doing all we can to make sure your online shopping, parcel deliveries and waste collections are unaffected; but please speak to one of the team on site if you are having any difficulties with access.
We’ll be working 7 days a week to get the work completed as quickly as we can.
During the work we may need to interrupt your water supply for a short time, for example to connect your property onto the new water main. We will give you at least 48 hours’ notice before this interruption.
