Our approach to RPZ valves

Application

Where an RPZ valve assembly is to be installed by a non-approved contractor, you must notify us in advance. You can do this by completing the notification form and providing a plan of the proposed installation.

Notification of Plumbing

Here you can find helpful information for filling in the notification form for proposed plumbing works. We've also added an explanation of what works you'll need to notify us about.

Installation

‘Approved Installation Method AIM-08-01’ provided by WRAS (Water Regulations Approval Scheme) sets out the requirements for installation, on-site testing and maintenance.

Annual testing

You are required to ensure your RPZ valve is tested and re-certified by a Competent Person at least annually and send copies of certification to Water.regs@Southernwater.co.uk.
