Sewer requisitions

If your site doesn’t have easy access to our wastewater network, you can apply for a sewer requisition (Section 98) through us. Here you can find out about the application process for a new sewer.

background

When do I need to apply for a sewer requisition?

Not all developments have access to our public sewers and sometimes you may need to cross private land to reach one or build your own. In this situation, you can ask us to install a new sewer pipe so that you can connect your properties to our wastewater network. We’ll design the best route, agree the details with you, and build the new sewer so your development can connect to our network.

Apply for a sewer requisition

Below you can find several guides and application forms — please read them before you get started. We'll be in touch every step of the way to make sure everything runs smoothly. Before you apply you'll need:

  • details of drainage easements over adjacent land or with neighbouring property owners
  • an on-site drainage plan to show the suggested sewer requisition route and connection point. Roads, adjacent buildings and the private pipe to our network should be clearly shown
  • a site location plan (1:1250 scale preferred) with the development to be drained outlined in green
  • proposed and existing site layouts. These should include easements, pipe distances, any buildings being demolished.
  • to confirm if your sewer connection will be pumped. If so, please state the company designing and constructing your pumping station and the pump rate.

Apply for a sewer connection (if needed)

When your sewer requisition is complete, you can apply for a sewer connection (Section 106) for any other drainage needs not covered by the requisition.
