We’re launching our largest ever intake of graduates, more than 50 will start their careers at Southern Water.

We’re launching our largest ever intake of graduates, more than 50 will start their careers at Southern Water.

Our graduate programme provides unique job opportunities, they include digital and AI intelligence roles, operation managers, as well as asset management roles in water and wastewater.

One graduate, Alisha Stafford-Jones, 24, is an ecologist and will complete her first year at the company on 31 March 2026. Here she shares some of the images of animals that have made a home at our sites across the Southeast, from the last year.

Alisha said: “My job as a graduate ecologist is to make sure we protect species, habitats and the environment, while the company carry out essential projects such as site upgrades and construction work.

“Our teams work together with all sorts of different departments across the company, we share ideas and work towards protecting the environment and all wildlife species.

“I love my job, but the best bit is probably the field work on a summer’s day. Being able to work in the outdoors and see nature first hand is a real treat. There’s always something unexpected if you look hard enough.”
