Teams from throughout Southern Water answered the public’s questions at a special customer drop-in session in Horsham this week.
Brighton Road Baptist Church played host to the ‘Your Water Matters Event’ on Wednesday, 15 May, in which members of the community heard more about Southern Water’s £31 million upgrade of the nearby Horsham Wastewater Treatment Works among other topics.
Jude Winstanley, Managing Director of Wastewater, who spoke with customers at the event, said:
“It was brilliant to meet our customers face to face and update local people on our activities in the area. We were able to direct visitors to our customer teams to get to the bottom of any concerns right away.
We were also able to explain how our teams from around the business help deliver drinking water to our customers and treat wastewater for our region.”
The wastewater site works will improve treatment processes and update equipment and will be complete by next year, with the knock-on benefit of achieving a 9% gain in biodiversity within the site.
Other Southern Water activities in the Horsham area include:
-
Our extensive community and schools' education programme
-
Conducting environmental studies on water abstraction at Pulborough
-
A review of water maintenance at our nearby Hardham site
-
Ongoing efforts to prevent blockages, pollutions, and flooding.
