What are we doing?
After installing a new humus (settling) tank so that we can treat more wastewater at any one time, we’re now introducing new equipment to add an extra layer of treatment and improve how we process wastewater from homes and businesses and in the area.
This will also improve the treatment of excess and diluted rainwater that flows into the site, further increasing the quality of water returning to the local environment and improving local bathing waters.
Useful information for residents and visitors
Through autumn and winter 2025, you may notice more heavy vehicles on the road as we deliver essential equipment to the treatment plant. Our team will work as quickly and safely as possible.
To reduce the impact on the community during construction, we’ll be:
- placing sound barriers around noisier equipment to help reduce noise for nearby properties
- managing traffic using Stop/Go boards at the site entrance to keep traffic flowing safely
- clean the wheels of our vehicles keep mud of local roads
