On average the works treats up 30 million litres of wastewater every day – rising to more than 71 million litres during wet weather.
This investment is part of on-ongoing programme to provide a long-term solution to problems at the site. This work has included the full maintenance of two nine-ton, 45-foot-long screens. The two screens filter out items such as wet wipes and sanitary products, that have wrongly been flushed down the toilets, from the wastewater that arrives on site.
Further investment is planned for the site and we will continue to keep our customers up-to-date as work progresses.
