Save a little water

Water is essential to our daily lives, but we only have a limited amount of it. By using less, you can help to protect the environment and future supplies. Here’s a few tips to help save water and money off your bill.

background

Did you know that the South East is officially water stressed?

Demand for water is increasing, as more people move to the region. At the same time, the impacts of climate change mean there’s less to go around. We can only take so much from the environment to protect local rivers. In fact, we predict that by 2030 we’ll need to find an extra 50 million litres of water a day to meet demand.

We all need to save more water, and by making a few small changes to our daily routines, we can do it. In our region, we’re all using around 127 litres per person, per day right now. To protect supplies, we need to get this down to about 100 litres per person, per day by 2045.
