Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans (DWMP)

Our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans (DWMPs) set out our plans for investment in drainage and wastewater services. This is to ensure our networks of sewers, pumps and wastewater treatment works meet the needs of our customers and protect the environment into the future.

background

Our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans

Our DWMPs cover the whole of our operating region across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in the South-East of England. They pull together the planning for our services in the 11 river basin catchments and for each of our 381 wastewater systems that serve our 4.7 million customers.

We are one of 10 water companies across England and Wales that provide wastewater services to homes and businesses (known as sewerage undertakers). We've all been developing our first DWMPs in line with national guidance provided by the government, our regulators (Ofwat and the Environment Agency) and others.

The purpose of the DWMPs is to plan for future climates and population while reducing storm overflows, flooding and pollution for the benefit of customers, communities and businesses and to protect and improve the water environment.
